The "International Water Conference", led by the Ministry of Higher Education and organized by Kabul Polytechnic University, concluded with the presentation of research papers and proposals by both domestic and foreign lecturers

During the closing ceremony of the conference, the Acting Minister of Higher Education, Sheikh al-Hadith Mawlavi Nida Mohammad Nadeem, promised that the papers and proposals presented in this conference would be shared with sectoral institutions and their implementation would be monitored closely.

 

He stated that the government is obligated to consult with experts from each sector on relevant topics and considered this conference as a good example of such an effort. Additionally, he requested foreign lecturers to continue their academic cooperation with Afghanistan.

 

The Acting Minister of Higher Education mentioned that the ministry has purchased equipment worth 270 million Afghanis for the laboratories of educational institutions in this year and is committed to academic research.

 

Moreover, the Deputy Minister for Academic Affairs of the Ministry of Higher Education, Sheikh Zia-ur-Rahman Aryobi, emphasized that water is an important issue for the country and further research and conferences on this topic are necessary to achieve better results.

 

The Deputy Minister for Finance and Administrative Affairs of the Ministry of Higher Education, Haji Mawlavi Muhammad Hamid Hasib, stated that one of the benefits of this conference was raising awareness about individual and societal responsibility to prevent wasteful practices in water usage.

 

This conference, which was held in the Loya Jirga Hall, attracted lecturers and specialists from 11 foreign countries in addition to local educational institution lecturers. During the three-day conference, they presented their academic research papers and engaged in joint discussions.

 

In total, 135 papers related to water were presented during the three days of the conference, including 35 from foreign lecturers and specialists, both online and in-person.

 

It is worth noting that the Water International Conference at Kabul Polytechnic University included participants from Russia, Iran, USA, UK, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, India, Nepal, the Philippines, and Turkey, alongside domestic lecturers.

 

The conference concluded with the distribution of awards, certificates, and appreciation letters.
