A two-day national conference titled (Strengthening Research in Academic Institutions) conducted at Afghan International Islamic University

During the commencement of the conference, the Deputy Minister for Academic Affairs, remarked that not only Emirate educational institutions but also private educational institutions have started organizing a series of academic conferences.

Moreover, he emphasized over academic research in universities and added, 'In more than 90-year history of higher education in the country, the attention had not been given to academic researches.

The Deputy Minister for Academic Affairs declared that the ministry is committed to broadening and developing academic research in universities and has a systematic plan for it. 

To the mentioned conference, 71 papers were submitted to the conference by the Emirate and private educational institutions, as well as international lecturers and researchers. Amongst these papers, 64 were approved by the academic board and published in collections, while 40 were selected for presentation at the conference. 

The main purpose of the “National Conference on Strengthening Research in Academic Institutions” is to institutionalize research within educational institutions, highlight the importance and the needl of research, and promote collaboration with sectoral organizations across various fields.

At the end of the conference, the organizers presented recommendations regarding the growing of research, standardization, and provision of facilities for research in the country. Certificates and trophies were also awarded to the participants. 

It should not be left untold that these national and international conferences on various topics have already been held at Nangarhar, Shaikh Zayed, Paktia, Kabul Education, Badakhshan, Kunduz and Takhar universities, and similar conferences will be conducted in the future.
