Jami Private University Hosts Two-day International Conference on Quality Assurance, Evaluation, and Strengthening in Higher Education Under Ministry of Higher Education leadership
The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Higher Education, the Deputy Minister for Academic Affairs, the Governor of Herat province, ministry officials, university delegations, and national and international lecturers and researchers.
At the beginning, the Minister of Higher Education, Sheikh-ul-Hadith Mawlavi Neda Mohammad Nadeem, expressed his gratitude to Jami Private University for hosting the conference. He spoke about the concept of quality from the perspective of Islam, saying “By ensuring quality, all aspects of human life are improved, and mankind needs quality in every field and every direction.”
The minister highlighted three key achievements of the ministry: eliminating corruption, addressing weaknesses, and promoting development. Moreover, he noted that the higher education curriculum previously included content against Islamic values, such as Darwin’s theory and immoral teachings, but assured these issues are now being removed.
Also, the minister urged representatives of private university to focus on quality in their teaching and academic work. He emphasized that all responsible individuals should perform their duties with honesty and dedication. Furthermore, he assured them that the higher education ministry and the IEA would fully support their efforts and provide opportunities for development.
The Governor of Herat, Sheikh Mawlana Islam Jar, spoke about recent developments in the province. He highlighted the creation of an industrial township, the expansion of factories, and the launch of major national and international projects, including the TAPI pipeline, the railway, and new terminals. He said these projects show that Herat is becoming more industrialized.
It is important to mention that during the two-day conference, 65 research papers will be presented by national and international lecturers and researchers.
